A leading sustainable additive revolution – Incus

Why did AM Ventures choose to invest in this company?

In our portfolio company Lithoz, the team around Gerald Mitteramskogler developed the Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing (LMM) process, a sinter-based additive manufacturing technology for metals. In this process, a green part (prior to post-processing) is printed by a photopolymeric binder system which is densely filled with metal powder. Due to the high resolution and the high level of accuracies achieved, as well as the extraordinary surface qualities, the LMM technology is particularly suitable for precision small and micro parts. We were immediately convinced that this technology is revolutionary and that it enables completely new applications in several technological fields such as medical and luxury. Therefore, in 2019 Incus spun out of Lithoz to become a company on its own. Since then, Incus showed that they have developed the technology further and are on their way to becoming a solution provider for mass manufacturing.

What are your expectations for this company in the coming years?

With the new Series A round we have the perfect investor syndicate to accelerate the development of the LMM technology and to industrialize Incus’ current AM solution for the next step of manufacturing. I am sure that you will hear a lot about the LMM technology and Incus in the upcoming years!
