Johann Oberhofer

Johann Oberhofer started AM Ventures together with Arno Held. He acts as Managing Partner and ”engineering mind” of the fund. He focuses on in-depth technological evaluations of new investments. With his immense experience, Johann enables us to identify the startups that others may oversee. Further, he can solve any challenges that might occur from patent license negotiations, contracting and technology development. Johann played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the polymer solutions and high-performance ceramics sectors of Additive Manufacturing through his first seed investments in the Vienna-based companies Lithoz (2014) and Cubicure (2015). The latter was then sold very successfully to Align Technologies.

Before joining AM Ventures, Johann Oberhofer had worked for EOS in several roles before holding the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for nearly 14 years with stops in the USA, Japan and other Asian countries. He has more than 30+ years of experience in selling, marketing and developing solutions in advanced manufacturing.

He studied both mechanical and industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and completed these studies with a diploma degree each.

Johann is married. He can be found enjoying mountain biking and skiing in the Bavarian alps.
