Arno Held co-founded AM Ventures with Johann Oberhofer in response to rising entrepreneurial activities in additive manufacturing. As Managing Partner, he focuses on the fund’s network, global footprint, and organizational growth. With his excellent industry connections, Arno is of great help to build scalable business models with the portfolio firms. Since founding AM Ventures, Arno has been instrumental in assembling the AM Ventures team that has scouted more than 3.000 startups countries worldwide and conducted more than thirty funding rounds in 7 countries on 3 continents within 4 years.
Before setting up AM Ventures, Arno Held gained valuable experience in over 7 years at EOS, an influential player in Advanced Manufacturing and a leading 3D-printing OEM. Prior to that, Arno’s career began as a service engineer at TRUMPF, where he built and maintained industrial laser systems globally.
Arno’s strong academic background includes an international executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), with studies completed in Shanghai (China) and Cape Town (South Africa). Further he obtained a diploma in industrial engineering and management from the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe (Germany).
Arno is married and has two sons. In his spare time, Arno’s passion lies in downhill mountain biking and mountaineering.
